Oregon Unions reveal their political plans

This AFL-CIO blog gives you a little hint as to some of the scary things that the unions have planned for Oregonians.

According to he blog the union leaders have "embarked on a program to transform the role of state federations in organizing." That program will be called the "unity team."

And just what does the "Unity Team" want to do? Well according to the Union blog they want to:

"prepare our affiliates for the passage of the 'Employee Free Choice Act' the single most important piece of legislation for working people."

What is the "Employee Free Choice Act?" Well it is the act that would eliminate the private ballot for unionizing and Oregon Democrats passed a bill in the last session that eliminated the private ballot for public employees, thus paving the way for a major expansion of unionizing.

Here is one description of the EFCA.

The deceptively named Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) strips workers of their right to a government-supervised, private-ballot vote and replaces it with a forced-unionization system, where workers must publicly declare their support for a union and publicly sign a binding contract without seeing the “fine print.” After 51% sign up, the remaining 49% of workers never get a choice.
At its core, EFCA is an undemocratic power grab by special-interest union lobbyists. It strips workers of their right to privacy and exposes them to intimidation, deception, and coercion.

The Unions in Oregon are going to be pushing hard. We at the Conservative Majority Project are doing what we can to target a few key races for the Oregon House and hope that other conservatives will join us in the fight to stop efforts like these by the Unions in Oregon.
