Oregon Democrats Running Scared

Today's story that Republican candidate Jeff Duyck was forced out of the House District 29 race is further indication that the Democrats are sweating the fact that they may actually lose control of the Oregon House of Representatives.

Jeff Duyck was running a very strong campaign against a very weak Democrat candidate (Chuck Riley).

The Democrats know that Riley is weak and they needed to find a way to give Riley a pass. So they did some digging to find out that even though the district boundary runs through Jeff Duyck's property and in fact the overwhelming majority of Duyck's property is in the district, his house is actually located 125 feet out of the district.

So the Democrats found a lacky to file the complaint with the Secretary of State's office.

That complaint uncovered a mistake that Washington County elections and the Secretary of State's office has been making for the last 7 years. That is that they have been sending the Duyck family ballots for district 29!

We know that the big news story is that Jeff Duyck must remove himself from running for that office. However, the bigger story is that secretly the Democrats know they are vulnerable.

Of course that cuts against the grain of the meme the Democrats have tried to create. That they are unbeatable and are most likely to gain seats in the Oregon House.

That is of course false and tactics like this are beginning to shine a little light on the vulnerability of Oregon House Democrats.
